Steve has worked in the Financial Services industry since 1971. He set up his first company, Synergo Technology (now part of ADP), in 1987 and designed the Tarot system used by most major stockbroking companies in the UK. In 1996, his design for the Halifax Building Society demutulisation won the British Computer Society’s system of the year award . Steve recently sold his blue-button securities processing system exclusively to the Royal London Group. He is a Fellow of the Securities Institute.
Chris has more than 35 years of experience in the IT industry. As Non-Executive Director at N M Rothschild and Sons Ltd, he was in charge of the strategic development and implementation of all the company’s IT systems. Before that, Chris was Director of Distributed Systems Development for ICL/Fujitsu, where he was responsible for the development of both hardware and systems software, as well as a budget of £32M and a team of more than 2000 staff worldwide.
Chris was also a Senior Non-Executive Director at Autologic Holdings plc, the largest car distribution organisation in the UK and Europe at the time, with a turnover of more than £350M. During his long and varied career, he has also acted as Director/Chairman for more than 10 other companies, including Woolworth plc and a number of highly successful start-ups.
As a former chief executive, Rodney has wide experience in general management with a strong focus on the information technology industry. His career included senior management positions at ICL, Gestetner and GEC. With a broad spectrum of management experience – technical, sales, and marketing – he is very familiar with the formulation and implementation of strategic, business and marketing plans. Rodney was also the former Chairman of Alphameric, the publicly quoted software company. Rodney brings extensive experience of raising capital from venture sources, in the City for listed companies and is an active business angel investor.
David has a proven track record of building high-growth businesses. As Marketing Director for Europe and the Americas (and then Global Marketing Director) at Gateway Inc, the largest online retailer at the time, David helped to grow the company’s revenues from $3.7bn to over $8.7bn in just three years. He again saw revenues soar at Dell Computer Corp – from $700m to over $5.7bn – during his time as Head of Strategic Planning and European Corporate Marketing Manager with the company.
David was also the founder of Chumbo.com, the largest volume provider of software via the internet at the time, which boasted an annual turnover of more than $20m when it was sold to AOL in 1999. In addition to his role with Babel Systems, David is currently the Chairman of London SME Wholesale Finance Ltd and holds seven other board positions.
Andrew Lloyd has several years’ experience in the Wealth Management and UK Insurance industries. He has undertaken a broad range of executive-level assignments for blue chip financial services clients such as Logica and Investment & Life Assurance Group, and has successfully managed a number of complex change programmes. Andrew recently established a new Consultancy Partnership, LloydJames LLP, to provide expert consultancy in the Insurance and Wealth Management sector. Andrew has recently joined Babel to aid in the successful development of strategic propositions to take to market.
Amanda has worked for over 30 years in the Wealth Management, Investment and Capital Market sectors designing and implementing solutions for a number of blue chip financial institutions. Amanda has deep domain knowledge of clearing, trading, settlement, outsourcing and custody and extensive management and leadership experience.
Laura has 20 years experience in the securities industry and has worked for software development and consultancy companies and for an international bank. Laura has extensive business analysis, software design and development experience and has worked on UK, international and global projects. Laura brings to the team a wealth of experience in all phases of the software development cycle from pre-sales through to product implementation and beyond.
Neville has more than 25 years in the Financial Services industry, mostly in the retail stockbroking and Wealth Management arenas. After being responsible for a large broking back office, he moved into the software side, designing and implementing large scale settlement systems before becoming Development and later Product Director at the two largest UK software houses in this space. Neville is able to call upon a blend of operational experience as well as direct interaction with Regulators and Exchanges and modern software development and project methodologies.
Manish Sharma has more than 13 years of experience in BFSI domain for a varied range of clients, including New York Life, Sungard and Netik across locations in Europe, America and Asia. As such, Manish has in-depth knowledge of designing and implementing multi-tier enterprise applications with high-volume online transaction processing. He is also highly experienced in establishing and managing offshore development centers for key clients and has a proven track record in establishing the best practices and guidelines for selecting, developing and implanting information systems with enterprise. Manish has experience in Microsoft Technologies and Open Source Framework like Spring.Net, NHibernate, as well as popular RDBMS packages like SQL Server and Oracle.
Natalie has over 16 years of international experience in project management, business analysis, data modelling, software design and development gained while working in the financial services industry. Natalie holds a professional qualification from the Canadian Securities Commission. Natalie has worked for a number of well known financial institutions in the UK and North America. As well as a deep knowledge of the investment industry, she brings to the team strong leadership skills and management experience.
Justin joined Babel in 2016 and has specialised in the sales and marketing of financial technology for over for 18 years. Prior to Babel, he was the Head of Sales at Digital Keystone, a pioneering software house specialising in enabling technologies for financial services digital transformation projects. Justin has worked for start-ups and multinational corporations and has sold complex software solutions to many of the world’s largest financial services organisations.
